We provided accounting, taxation, self-managed superannuation and independent financial planning services to businesses and individuals in the Canberra region.

The BLM Accounting Services team have a wealth of experience in all aspects of Xero. Xero have recognised this by certifying BLM Accounting Services as a Xero Gold Partner. This means that we currenlty provide bookkeeping and accounting support to over of 100 clients who use Xero in the day-to-day running of their business.

Doug is celebrating 30 years as a member of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand in 2018. This wealth of experience allows him to oversee all services provided at BLM Accounting which include taxation and business services, Self-Managed Superannuation administration and advice, financial planning, as well as overseeing and developing client relationships.
Doug first worked in the accounting field in 1979 in his father’s Chartered Accounting firm which was established in Cooma in the mid 1950’s. After leaving High School Doug skied on the Australian Ski Team in Europe, was a ski instructor in Thredbo and Mammoth Mountain in California before moving to Canberra to commence University in 1980. Doug graduated in Economics (1983) at ANU and then worked in the Canberra office of Peat Marwick Mitchell from 1984 until the merger with Hungerford’s (KPMG) in 1987. Doug completed his Law degree at ANU and became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1988.
Doug’s main outside work interests are in property investment, travel, skiing and in line with retirement planning, more recently golf. The circle is now complete as Doug spends a lot of time in Niseko, Japan where one his first Cooma clients now has a successful snow sports business where Doug can combine all of his personal and professional passions in both summer & winter.
Sarah specialises in Self-Managed Superannuation administration, planning and advice, which goes hand in hand with her Financial Planning qualifications and expertise. Her experience and knowledge in these professions helps her to advise clients and create strategic proposals for their current resources, whilst gathering financial acumen, to resource themselves for the future.
Sarah joined the team at BLM Accounting in 2002. Sarah's role with BLM has grown since her start in a reception and administration role. Sarah spent many years balancing study whilst helping all of our clientele and professional staff in her many roles within this practice. Sarah has a Bachelor of Business majoring in accounting (2014), Diploma of Financial Services in Financial Planning (2009) and is a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand since 2017.
When Sarah is not at work she enjoys amateur weight lifting and currently competes in Power lifting. Sarah enjoys supporting the live music scene in Canberra, keeps fit and loves watching most sporting events.
Isaac specialises in taxation and business services, with a broad range of clients across a large spectrum of industries. His experience enables him to provide advice and technical solutions to a large range of individuals, companies and small businesses with a variety of corporate structures with varying requirements.
Isaac joined the team at BLM Accounting in 2011. He started his accounting career with a big four accounting firm in 2007, and since then Isaac became a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand since 2011 and also has bachelor degrees in Commerce and Information Technology from the University of Canberra (2010).
Outside of work Isaac is a fanatic supporter of the Liverpool Football Club, but also supports all forms of the round ball game. Whether it’s watching the English Premier League, A-League, W-League or merely chasing the leather ball around in a variety of competitions which he participates in around Canberra. Isaac is also a dog lover who owns both a miniature sausage dog and pedigree German Shepherd.
Lu is the driving force behind the scenes at BLM accounting where her key competencies all stem from her attention to detail and customer orientated background.
Lu is a valued member of the BLM Accounting team, having graduated from the University of Canberra in 2008 with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, Banking and Finance.
Outside of BLM, Lu is an experienced service and restaurant manager. As she regularly helps out in the management of her brother's family restaurants - Roti House Restaurant (Canberra City) and Ming’s Restaurant (Phillip Shops).
Ben has been in public practise for 13 years as an accountant. During his time in public practice he has encountered and helped many clients of all shapes and sizes with a wide range of requirements. Ben’s strength is operating with small to medium sized business. He utilises his experience and expertise to help his clients achieve their business and personal goals.
Ben joined the team at BLM Accounting in 2018. Ben is a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (2016) and also has Bachelor of Accounting from the University of South Australia (2013).
Outside of work Ben enjoys sending time with his young family. He also enjoys watching sports and is into fitness.
Tamara has spent the last 15 years working in Administration and Finance for variety of SME’s through to national and international size businesses. She has also been involved in running a family business in one form or another during that time. She understands the challenges that business owners face and utilises her experience in helping her clients. Tamara has a strong knowledge and experience in cloud accounting and associated software with a focus on Xero.
Tamara joined the team at BLM Accounting in 2018. She is currently studying her Bachelor of Accounting at the University of Canberra. She is hoping to complete her studies in 2022 and commence the CA Program.
Outside of work Tamara enjoys travel and uses her spare time to travel overseas and around Australia.
